Through rose tinted glassesI've made friends through social media, turning online acquaintances into people I meet for a drink and a good natter. I'm always up for making new connections, so when I spotted the Insta-meet in Bristol last Saturday, I thought it'd be a great way to put a face on the handles of many of my fellow 'igers'. Organised by Jess of IgersBristol, the gathering started at the Clifton Observatory, but we caught up with the group at the Royal Crescent. It was so good to meet many fellow Instagramers in the flesh. From professional photographers to engineering students, it was quite a varied bunch! The sun was shining as we chatted and snapped the colourful houses and beauty of Spring in Clifton Village. My little one took part in the experience and she loved it! Shooting with an old iPhone of mine, it was hilarious to see her showing her pictures around and running ahead of the group to "spot things first" and capture "things that no-one else has seen"! I'm really impressed that she already knows what she wants when it comes to photography and I can say not without a certain pride, that she already has a good eye! What better place to end the day than at one of our favourite pubs, the Portcullis, to find out a little bit more about each other over a pint. We must have looked like a weird bunch, discussing the virtues of various phone battery chargers or suddenly all going silent while staring at our screens to check the pictures we took on the day...but hey! We're planning a monthly meet-up so follow IgersBristol to find out more about our next event!
